Professor H. Latifee is the Managing Director of Grameen Trust, a sister organization of Grameen Bank. Grameen Trust has helped implementation of more than 150 Grameen replication programs in 40 countries including 13 programs directly implemented by it.
Professor Latifee is well known for his contribution in the field of microfinance, poverty alleviation, financial inclusion, social business and value building growth. He is recognized as an expert in the area of Microfinance, Poverty Reduction and Value Building Growth due to his long experience with Grameen Bank, Grameen Trust, Grameen partners and Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) worldwide.
Professor Latifee is the Chairman of Grameen Latin America LLC, Grameen Carso in Mexico, Grameen Aval Colombia, Grameen Caldas, Grameen Italia, GT-CPAD-Danone Microcredit Initiatives in China, Microcredit Initiative of Grameen (MIG) in India, Songpan-Aba Microcredit Company Ltd. in Sichuan and Grameen (Sangdu) Microcredit Company Ltd. in Inner Mongolia in China.
Professor Latifee also serves as Member of a number of Boards of different microfinance organizations and social business entities in Bangladesh and other countries including Grameen America, Inc. in U.S.A, Grameen Credit Agricole Microfinance Foundation in Luxembourg, Family Bank in Bahrain, NirdhanUthan Bank in Nepal, Grameen Intel, Grameen Telecom, Yunus Center, Yunus Foundation, Grameen Communication, Grameen Shakti and Grameen Fabrics and Fashions Ltd. in Bangladesh. He is also on the advisory board of several national and international organizations.
Professor Latifee led several fact finding missions in different countries of Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas. He attended many international seminars, conferences and summits as key-note speaker and panelist. His writings on poverty and microfinance related issues are well appreciated. Professor Latifee is the winner of Business Week’s Stars of Asia Award, 2001.
